Conservatory Blinds Rock

If you're wondering what to do with your conservatory, especially if you're needing to either keep out the sun and heat, or warm up the space during winter, one thing that is important to invest in is decent conservatory blinds.

I personally don't think that curtains are really that great in a conservatory. While they may look nice, especially when they're brand new, they are really difficult to care for especially if you're outfitting an entire conservatory with them! Just cleaning them alone will be a major task, and a fairly big expense too unless you can clean and iron them yourself.

Commonly roller blinds are used for conservatory windows, especially the side windows. Different styles of blinds are usually used for the conservatory roof, however, as roller blinds don't really work that well on conservatory roofs. Roller blinds are great though one problem with them, if you open up your conservatory window, is that they can tend to really billow out with any passing breeze so you almost need a way to actually attach them to the wall temporarily to prevent that from happening.

It is quite expensive to fit out an entire conservatory with blinds or shutters, that's another reason why people tend to get roller blinds for their conservatory blinds as they're quite a bit cheaper than any other type of blinds, shades or shutters. When it comes to choosing conservatory blinds, make a wise choice as you'll have to keep them for quite a while.

Plantation Shutters

Wondering whether or not you should put up Plantation shutters? Well, the first thing to realize is that they really are not cheap. To the contrary, they are some of the more expensive window coverings you can buy, even if you look for the cheaper ones. But if you're looking for a classic style and wanting to add a wood look to your room's decor, they could be the way to go.

Basically there are two main types of plantation shutters, those made from real hard wood, and those made from composite or faux wood. Faux wood plantation shutters are generally a bit cheaper than the real wood plantation shutters, although of course sometimes it depends on the design as well.

If you want to get cheaper plantation shutters you may want to look into the half window variety. They only cover the bottom half of your window, leaving the top part totally open so that plenty of light can stream into your room, yet you can have the privacy you need from keeping the bottom section of your windows covered.

Plantation shutters are hinged and they open out to the sides of the windows, which is nice as it allows you to open up the window from the bottom, or to switch it out depending on how you have it hung.
